The excessive deer population in New Jersey has a variety of direct negative impacts to humans, including crop damage, forest degradation, and vehicular collisions. There are also many indirect negative effects, such as reduced habitat quality for native wildlife species and increased probability of invasion by exotic plants. Through scientific research and partnerships with federal and state agencies, we are working to find sustainable and cost-effective solutions to manage deer in the state if New Jersey.
